Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church has the responsibility for overseeing church finances and other basic policy matters on behalf of the congregation. It is also responsible for establishing an organizational structure and delegating the responsibility and authority to carry out the activities of the church. Lines of responsibility for committees and church supported organizations are determined by the Board. All persons elected to church positions shall be members of the church.
There are nine elected trustees. Outgoing Board members, not including ex officio members, shall serve as an Officer-Nominating Committee for incoming officers. The five officers of the church are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.
Most trustees serve as liaison to the various areas of the church’s Strategic Plan. The Board usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to all interested members of the congregation.
At the beginning of each Board of Trustees meeting, there is a five minute "time for congregants," which is an opportunity for any church member to address and to be heard by the Board of Trustees.
