Service Auction
Every year, West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church hosts a fundraising event that includes a live and silent auction. Over 225 people from the congregation and the greater Cleveland area attend this special fundraising event every year, and it serves as our most significant fundraiser for social outreach. A single entry ticket gets you wonderful food, entertainment and the opportunity to participate in bidding on unique items from many local businesses and on services offered by church members. Theme parties are a popular service auction donation.
The funds raised from this event will support our overall mission and ministry as well as our many local and global outreach activities including:
-
West Shore Child Care Center located at our church.
-
The Cleveland Food Bank.
-
The Cleveland Homeless Shelter and Interfaith Hospitality Network.
-
Substance Abuse Twelve Step Programs.
-
Northeast Ohio Alliance for Hope (NOAH) that promotes understanding among different ethnic and racial communities.
-
Micro-credit Village Bank in Guatemala.
-
Support for our partner church Transylvania, Romania to send village children to high school and to provide a summer church camp for the village children.
The catalog is printed two weeks before the auction with full descriptions of the events and services. The auction is an ideal way to get to know fellow UUs through enjoyable activities, both by donating a party or service and by bidding at the auction.
