Special Fundraisers

Several times a year, the church puts on fund-raising events that support the annual operating budget. This kind of fundraising accounts for less than 5% of West Shore's income, but it's an important 5% and it's fun to raise! New ideas for special fundraisers are always welcome.

Besides the income, our two major annual fundraisiers, the Bazaar, and the Service Auction, offer unique social outlets for connections among our members. In 2007, the Bazaar is being held on Saturday, November 10, from 10 AM to 4 PM, and the Service Auction is being held the following weekend, Saturday, November 17, starting at 6 PM.

The links to your left offer a quick way to access the Service Auction catalogue or to pay your Service Auction bill on-line.

Two other Fundraisers operate every Sunday morning, and allow you with some small changes in your consumption habits to contribute to the church's budget at no cost to you.

We offer Grocery Gift Certificates from Giant Eagle and Heinen's stores each Sunday at face value. We make a 4% profit on these certificates, and over the year certificate sales bring in over $2000 to the church. Bring your checkbook to church and take home a certificate to pay for your week's groceries! Karen Auer heads up a team of volunteers that act as the sales agents one Sunday a month. Contact her through the church office if you'd like to help.

We also sell Fair Trade Coffee, Chocolate, and Tea. Our vendor for these excellent quality products also give us a dividend on sales which helps pay for the coffee and tea we offer after service each week. Contributions too cover coffee and tea are also received. The Green Sanctuary Committee led by Peggy and Pat Smith manages these sales and welcome volunteers.
