Extended Families have been around West Shore since 1973, and one of the original families still exists. Extended Families offer a way
to help church members connect with each other, and to provide mutual support, as well as social contacts. They can be especially beneficial
for those who do not have functional families living close by. Each family has a coordinator, who is responsible for such things as
arranging the first meeting, preparing a roster of family members, and reminding members of upcoming events.
Events are typically held monthly. Members should commit to belong to the family for six months.During that time, it is important to participate
in events so that members can get to know each other.
