How to Take Care of the Church Building
The building is used by literally hundreds of people each month. This is a general guide regarding "best practices" for building use:
-
If you open it – close it
-
If you use it up – replace it.
-
If you turn it on – turn it off
-
If you unlock it – lock it up
-
If you move it – put it back or leave a note with your name & contact information.
-
If it belongs to someone else and you want it – get permission
-
If you borrow it – return it
-
If you don’t know how to operate it – leave it alone
-
If you need help- ask for it
-
If you use it – take care of it
-
If you break it – repair it
-
If you can’t repair it – report it
-
If you mess it up – clean it up
-
If it will brighten someone’s day – say it
-
If you want to know – ask
-
If you brought it with you – take it home.
-
Remember – your mother doesn’t work here, so take care of yourself
Guidelines Not Covered by the list of Best Practices:
Please don't water the plants; they are taken care of by a church volunteer each week. Watering them in between her visits throws off the watering schedule.
TURN OFF LIGHTS! If you are the last one to leave a room--don't assume that someone else will do it for you.
Please don't prop open doors. We lose heat and/or air conditioning which adds up. You may open windows to get fresh air; but please let the staff know so we can adjust the room temperature appropriately.
Remember--Building Request/Information forms can be found in the church office. They serve as both incident reports--to let staff know of repair or cleaning issues; and to inform the staff of needs you may have as a renter or as a church member using the building. Your help in keeping the building in good shape is greatly appreciated!
