Green Sanctuary Committee

There is no doubt that our planet is in the midst of a global environmental crisis, the effects of which we can no longer afford to ignore. As Unitarian Universalists, we strongly believe in the interdependent web of all existence (our 7th Principle) and believe that our health, vitality and survival as a species, as well as that of all creatures, depends on acting on this belief. The mission of the Green Sanctuary Committee is to facilitate and support our congregation’s commitment to live out our 7th principle: "Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” We do this through the practice of environmental stewardship which includes individual and congregational environmental practices, education, witness and advocacy in the local community and the larger world.

Green Sanctuary is proud to annouce that it is now a certified Green Sanctuary Congregation!  Attached here is ourAction Plan and our Application.

Green Sanctuary is currently on hiatus.  Look for future plans and programs in the church newsletter--the Shorelines. Questions about the committee should be directed to co-chairs Sharon Hogan or John Mack.
