Our Mission
Why do we exist as a congregation? Does what we do make a difference in the lives of our members? In the larger world? These are the kinds of questions the Board of Trustees, Parish Co-Ministers, Staff and Congregation will be exploring during the 2007 - 2008 church year. Through a process of Board conversations, interviews, and one-on-one conversations, the leaders of West Shore will be putting forth the following draft mission statement, for review, reflection and discussion.
Our mission is to help people live lives of meaning and purpose.
We do this through:
- inspiring, transcendent worship;
- nurturing, inclusive community;
- lifespan faith development opportunities;
- service to others within our congregation, our local community and the world beyond.
The Board welcomes your feedback and input on this mission statement, to be ratified after congregational discussion at our annual meeting in June.
