Contemporary and Small Group Worship
West Shore has regularly provided worship services apart from those occuring in the church sanctuary. Usually these services were offered outside of Sunday morning, whether "alt.worship," or "Soulful Sundown," alternative styles of worship are embraced at West Shore.
We offer two worship services on Sunday morning - 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. Intergenerational services are held monthly, with all ages present in the sanctuary. However, many small groups at West Shore hold their own small group worship services, such as the UU Christian Fellowship and the Buddhist meditation group.
This year members of West Shore will be in discussion with one another, the leadership, the Lifespan Faith Development director and the parish co-ministers about "Making More Room" in the RE classrooms and in the parking lot for more people. One part of this conversation may include a discussion about whether or not to provide a second service at an earlier morning time, or at another time off Sunday morning. The results of this discussion will be concluded around February 2009.
The parish co-ministes and worship associates are looking for in-house musicians, artists, poets, dancers and other artistic venues to help shape worship in a venue different from the sanctuary style of worship. Are you interested in being part of a creative team? Contact one of the parish co-ministers at 440-333-2255 ext. 115.
